Membership Meetings

The Zonta Club of Jefferson City’s general membership meetings take place the third Tuesday of each month, starting with a networking session at 5:30 p.m.; dinner and the program begin at 5:45p.m. The cost for the meeting is $20 for each member and guest.

The fiscal year is from June 1st through May 31st and General Membership meets each month with the exception of:

• August -No General Membership meeting for the month of August.
• December – The membership gets together for a brief meeting and Christmas Party on the third Tuesday. There are no dinner fees, but members are asked to bring something for a Pot Luck Dinner. Each member pays $25 with their annual dues to support the Christmas Raffle Fundraiser.
• April –The Yellow Rose Luncheon Honoree Reception is usually held on the evening of the third Tuesday. Zonta hosts the Reception as a club fundraising activity where the Second Chance Scholarship award recipients, the Lifetime Achievement award recipient and the Yellow Rose Luncheon Women of Achievement Honorees are recognized. Each member pays $20 with their annual dues to support this activity.
• May – The Yellow Rose Luncheon is held annually, usually on the third or fourth Tuesday of May. The Zonta Club of Jefferson City hosts their major fundraising event, the Yellow Rose Luncheon, at the Capitol Plaza Hotel.

As a classified service organization, Zonta Club of Jefferson City’s local bylaws requires regular meeting attendance. However, we realize that personal and business conflicts may arise which, with advance notice, can result in an excused absence.

In order to help prepare for the membership meetings, members receive an e-mail each month and are asked to respond with a YES or NO by the Friday before the meeting date, indicating whether or not they are attending the meeting and if they plan to bring a guest.
