Zonta is an international organization committed to empowering women through service and advocacy. Our local Zonta Chapter has made a commitment to the advancement of women by awarding Second Chance Scholarships to assist local women who want to advance or start new careers. The Second Chance Scholarship Program has changed the lives of many local women. We have awarded over $380,000 in scholarships to date!
As our 22nd Yellow Rose Luncheon Celebration Speaker, Desiree Reed- Francois was named Mizzou’s 21st Director of Athletics in August 2021. A former student-athlete at UCLA, Reed-Francois is the first female athletic director in Mizzou’s history, the first female athletic director in a public institution in the SEC and was the first Hispanic female and woman of color athletics director at the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) level. Reed-Francois came to Mizzou after serving four years as the Director of Athletics at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. She has also served in senior leadership roles at Virginia Tech, Cincinnati and Tennessee during her 25-plus years in collegiate athletics. We invite you to hear her inspirational story which embodies the spirit of this year’s celebration of women breaking through and rising above limits.
In addition, we will honor a “Lifetime Achievement Winner” and ten nominees honored for their contributions and achievements. Two of these women will be chosen as Zonta’s “Women of Achievement.” Please join us as we celebrate “The Woman Without Limits.”
There is also an opportunity to promote your business at the "Zonta Expo", which will continue in the atrium of the Capitol Plaza Hotel from 9:30-11:30 a.m, prior to the luncheon. Space is limited, so please contact Sherri Thomas (573) 465-3242 to reserve a space at this premier event!
