SERVICE PROJECTS

Members of the Zonta Club of Jefferson City are committed to service projects in our community. Each year service projects that benefit women and girls in our area and around the world are identified and selected to support. The Club has supported many local, national and international organizations for many years.

Community Service Project Requests – To submit a request for Community Service Project support for the Zonta Service Committee and Board to consider, please complete the “Community Service Project Request” below.

Service Projects of the Zonta Club of Jefferson City:

Zonta Period Pack Project (see below link to donate supplies or funds for the Project)
- The Project provides free products supporting the menstrual health of women and girls, through collaboration with local not-for-profits that support women and girls, such as Halo, Healing House, RACS, Dreams2Reality, Boys & Girls Club, Central Missouri Foster Care & Adoption Association and Salvation Army, among others.
- Obtaining appropriate menstrual health products can be a challenge for women and girls who are unhoused or in a financially compromised situation in life. In the United States, it is estimated 1 in 3 teenage girls and 1 in 4 adult women struggle to afford period products, especially teens of color and lower-income households.
- Lacking appropriate menstrual health products can be debilitating and can hinder the ability to attend work or school as well as affect self-esteem and further repercussions. Often, these individuals have limited clothing options that can become damaged and stained and be embarrassing or stigmatizing.

Community Service Project Request
Each year the Zonta Club of Jefferson City identifies service projects that will support women and girls in our community. Such service projects may be an activity carried out by the Zonta Club in which members provide hands-on service, collaborate with other organizations and/or provide financial support.
Criteria for Service Project support:

Not-for-profit in the Central Missouri area whose mission supports women/girls; priority is given to organizations that provide support only to females with a broad outreach across female populations.
Should focus on Zonta’s mission of “building a better world for women and girls”.
Should address empowerment of women and girls in general to achieve equal rights and support every woman in achieving her full potential.
Should allow for Zonta to obtain visibility through publicity/media coverage.

To submit a request for support, please complete the application and include a copy of your organization’s 501c3, if applicable. Support requests obtained by June 30th annually will receive top priority, however, requests may be submitted throughout the year for consideration.

Please include the following information in your request below:

Name of organization requesting support.
Mission of organization.
Address and phone number.
Primary contact name, phone, and email.
Activity/Event to be supported (include Website or social media information about the activity/event, if available).
Type of support requested (hands-on involvement, promotion of activity/event, sponsorship, other financial support, other).
Date of event/support needed or ongoing.
How does this event/activity support the empowerment of women and/or girls?
